The Week in Review | April 18 – 24, 2017
I tried my very first Acai bowl today! I don’t know how “blog worthy” that really is haha, but it was delicious! I tried the SoHo Acai Bowl, which has all of this tasty goodness inside: Acai, banana, strawberries, almond butter, and almond milk topped with almond chia granola, banana, cacao nibs, coconut flakes, bee pollen and a blue majik drizzle. I’ll post a quick snap below so you can see for yourself how amazing it looked! YUM!!!
And with that, here are just a few of the highlights from the past week!
– Luke and I had a special lunch date on Saturday with a couple from church that we are so grateful to know! We drove up to Tampa to meet them at Ulele, a place we’d never been before but decided would definitely be on our list for future dates 😉 Spending time with those two was so invigorating and fun! One of the (many) things that I’m so thankful for about Luke is that he values spending time with couples older than us, couples who have been where we are and can speak truth and life and wisdom over our marriage and faith.
– Last week, I launched seven brand new pieces into the Salty Pine Paper Co. shop, and y’all have been so sweet and kind…thank you SO much!! ?
Over the weekend, I worked on an idea that I’ve had for creating a few pieces just for mamas, to encourage them, support them, and remind them to laugh…I’m really excited about how they turned out, and will have them up in the shop by the end of this week!!! These new pieces would be perfect for Mother’s Day, but aren’t holiday “themed”, so really, they’re perfect for any day that a mama you know might need some extra love. If you want to know when the new pieces go up in the shop later this week, head over to FB and like/follow the business page (@thisgoodlifephoto) so you see the updates 🙂 Can’t wait to share more over there soon!
– Luke and I started watching Band of Brothers together last night. He’s been watching it every year or two for quite a while (since college maybe?), but this is my first time ever watching it. And I’m so grateful for the way it reminds me of how my freedoms and liberties came to be, and the immense and unfathomable sacrifices that were made along the way.
– I’ve been co-leading our Tampa Bay Tuesdays Together chapter for the past several months, and recently took on the role of solo leader when our sweet Kelly needed to step down for rest and more family time. April is the first full month where I’ve been leading on my own, and I’m SO excited for this week for our group because we’re having a live viewing party of The Rise Summit all day tomorrow at the Rialto Theater in Tampa! If you haven’t heard about it yet, The Rise Summit is a free all-day online conference packed full of incredible educators and impactful content to help you grow and mature as a creative/small business owner/entrepreneur! If you fall into any of those categories, or you really just like to learn ? , it’s not too late to register (therisesummit.com)! And the best part is that any registration donations go directly to Pencils of Promise to fund the building of a school in a third world country!!!
PS – If you are a creative/small business owner/entrepreneur, you should click on the Tuesdays Together link above and find the monthly meet-up that’s closest to you! The groups are literally all across the globe, and are such a special way of meeting other like-minded folks and building up intentional community! TOTALLY WORTH IT (I love our group so much)!!!
