The Week in Review | June 7 – June 13, 2016
This is a special Cheers for me and will look a little different because…..Luke and I are officially on vacation!!! His younger brother, Isaac, is getting married this coming Saturday (WOOOHOO!), and we felt like it would be the perfect time to make a long trip out of our travel, so we’ll be up here in the North for a full TEN days! 😀 😀
Right now, we’re in the car on the way up to northern Vermont….Luke is driving and munching on BBQ sunflower seeds while the latest Mark Levin episode plays around us, and I’m sitting over here in the passenger seat with my favorite, lumpy pillow on my lap, writing this little note to all of you! We’re about an hour away from home, and the excitement is building, building, building! This will be the first time we’ve been back since January, and we can’t wait to spend this next week with family!!
Just for fun, here’s a little overview of our weekend so far, with much more coming next Monday!
We flew out of St. Pete on Saturday morning, landed in Manchester NH by lunchtime, and made our way down to CT so we could spend the first three days of this trip visiting all of our dear friends and favorite places from our first year of marriage.
We spent Saturday evening catching up with a sweet couple that Luke has known for almost a decade, and who were kind enough to drive alllllllll the way to Vermont back in 2014 to attend our wedding! We spent that night with another favorite couple of ours, who ALSO drove all those hours up to Vermont for our wedding (don’t we have the sweetest friends??) and who we got to visit with just earlier this year when they were vacationing down in Florida. Yesterday, we woke up and drove back to our first married church in Southbury for a morning of hugs, catching up, and hearing the Word. Lunch with some of our favorites at Leo’s afterwards made the day even better! From there, we followed some of our best friends back to their new-to-them farm house out in the country. Oh my goodness, was it beautiful!! Our time with them was so rich and sweet, filled up with laughter, prayer, and the joy of finally getting to share our hearts face to face again. It was just the best! Saying goodbye this morning was even harder than I thought it would be. We are so deeply grateful for them!
And on that note, I’m off to finish up this road trip! And also my computer battery is at 3%, so there’s that 😉 Have a wonderful week! And if you want to follow along on our vacation adventures, you can find us on Snapchat with the username: therickertwo. Hope to see you there! Happy Monday!
PS – The photo from today’s post is from my first of two commercial sessions at FOUND Treasures for Living in Dunedin….I’m so excited to share more from these sessions once we’re back from vacation, so stay tuned! 😀 😀
EDIT: It’s been such a fun night so far: family dinner, rainy weather, playing with all the nieces and nephews, chatting around the living room….yay vacations!!! ❤️
